Facts about Cancer
Cancer for the unaware is a band of diseases described as an unrestrained progress and spread of abnormal cells. If not handled, it can result in death. Cancer is the second most common reason of death in the US only surpassed by heart disease. Everyone can develop cancer, but it is typically diagnosed in persons 55 yrs of age and older. It is dealt with via surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, biological therapy and targeted therapy. A staggering amount of $226.8 billion is the estimated sum total of cancer in 2007.
The American Cancer Society documented in the Cancer Facts & Figures 2005 report that, “About 5% to 10% of all cancers are clearly hereditary, in that an inherited genetic alteration predisposes the person to a very high risk of particular cancers.”
In their 2010 record it says that after 5 years, and with all the developments, about 5% of all cancers are clearly hereditary, in that an inherited genetic alteration confers a very high risk of developing one or more specific types of cancer.’
A Reflection
There are two points of concern I'd like to bring to your attention. First, a clearly 5% to 10% has slipped to a strongly 5% within a five year period. Their research has persuaded them that despite the fact that more Americans are now being identified daily with cancer, it's believed that less and less are derived from inheritance factors.
Secondly, if only 5% of most cancers are hereditary, what is causing the 95% of all of the rest of the cancer diagnosis. I have found these numbers disconcerting and there appears to be no real group trying to find the answers.
It's extensively recorded that tobacco use is very dangerous to the body and can cause cancer and plenty of other afflictions. In fact, the American Cancer Society reports that in 2012, around 173,200 cancer fatalities will be caused by smoking cigarettes. Yes, I feel it to be factual that unhealthy weight or obese, physical inactivity and bad eating plan can bring about health problems. Certain cancers may be connected with hepatitis B, human papillomavirus (HPV), HIV, Epstien Barr, and Helicobactor pylorie. However, 95% is a sizeable number and all of these problems don't make up the 95%.
According to cancer dot org, in 2012 alone, you will find more than a million new cancer cases expected to be clinically diagnosed, and this doesn’t include carcinoma in situ. Close to 500,000 of these are expected to die at a rate of 1,500 a day.
We must begin examining what's happening to or in our region that is resulting in all the cancer population. It appears we are on a path of gradual suicide and we do not even realize it. We Americans live in a fantastic “Land of milk and honey.” We've many things at our finger tips and occasionally take it for granted. However, is some of this milk and honey killing us? What's in our surroundings that could be provoking our bodies to spread abnormal cells (cancer cells) instead of generating healthy cells?
